Financial Transparency for Sustainable Access to Clean Water

Josephina Acaa, 73, is one of the leaders of Team Life Changers in Borbayo village, Gulu district in Northern Uganda, addressing water-borne diseases through access to clean water. Having been selected as a trusted treasurer, Josephina diligently keeps finances for both the team’s savings and Global Grassroots venture funds. Her transparency and deep understanding of the need for proper financial management have resulted in sustainable access to clean water in her community.

Before attending Global Grassroots venture training, Josephina had challenges handling the team’s finances from different sources. She believes that her eyes were opened after training, enabling her to identify challenges in her work and find solutions.

The training opened my eyes to find solutions to my challenges,” she said.  “As a corruption-free treasurer, I am confident that my transparency will help in providing access to clean water to women in my community because funds will always be available for repairing the borehole during break downs.
